Mar Julius I Alvares and his brother priest Fr. R.Z. Noronha have been declared saints by the Catholicos of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church, His Beatitude Baselios Marthoma Paulose II during a mass at the SMS Auditorium at Brahmavar in Udupi district on Sunday 6 December. The Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church is recognized as the parent jurisdiction of the Order of Antioch.
