The Prince-Abbot of San Luigi in his capacity as Catholicos of the West has issued a Charter upon the petition of the Liberal Catholic Apostolic Church under the leadership of Matriarch Paula-Willemijn van Rooijen. The Prince-Abbot is Emeritus Primate of this church, which he formerly led as Primate between 2008 and 2009. The Charter establishes the LCAC as a canonically valid denomination in continuation from its establishment in 2008, at which point it had close links to both the Catholicate of the West and the Ancient Catholic Church, both of which denominations are now under the aegis of the Abbey-Principality of San Luigi. The LCAC is fully autonomous and under the terms of the Charter has been released from the jurisdiction of the Catholicate of the West.
