The Apostolic Episcopal Church has been known by the subtitle The Holy Eastern Catholic and Apostolic Orthodox Church since its founding years and has authorized this subtitle to be used by its missions in Brazil either in the English or Brazilian Portuguese languages.

The Apostolic Episcopal Church makes it known to the public that it has become aware that certain individuals in Brazil are using our name and symbols without permission on Instagram and passing themselves off as members of our clergy. Such activity is fraudulent.

A list of authorized clergy of the Apostolic Episcopal Church is provided at https://san-luigi.org/churches/catholicate-of-the-west/the-apostolic-episcopal-church/clergy/ and any person who is not listed there is not a part of the clergy of our church.

The fraudulent use of our name and symbols is occurring at https://www.instagram.com/p/DI4g887xBXs/?igsh=OGpmZXV3N3NhZDFx where one Javier Montaña is named. This person is not a member of our church.

The symbol below designating The Holy Eastern Catholic and Apostolic Orthodox Church was devised by the present Primate of the AEC and he owns all copyright that subsists in it. Only authorized clergymen of the AEC may use the symbol to designate their clergy membership in our church.

Appointment of new bishop

The Most Revd. Michael Cuozzo, OCR, OFE, DD, STD, PhD, MA, has been appointed as Provincial of the West, USA, and Titular Archbishop of Epiphania in the Apostolic Episcopal Church, and as a Deputy to the Primate, and further in the Catholicate of the West as Patriarch of Malaga and Exarch for the USA. Archbishop Michael will be designated as Mar Francis.

He is Primate and Presiding Archbishop of the Order of Franciscans of the Eucharist (O.F.E.), a chartered religious order of the AEC incorporated in California that affirms its identity and unity as a Roman Catholic autocephalous body and takes particular inspiration from the life and example of Pope Francis.

The Prince-Abbot receives the Pilgrim of Hope certificate from the Archbishop of Cracow

The Prince-Abbot has received the Pilgrim of Hope certificate from the Archbishop of Cracow, Poland. The certificate recognizes his participation in the Jubilee Route (St Philomena’s Way) designated by the Pope for the Holy Year 2025. The Pilgrimage is recognized as an opportunity for a personal encounter with Jesus and to bring the message of Jesus to others. The certificate ends with a pastoral blessing. The award of this certificate further emphasises our unity with other Catholics and our common hope in our Lord and Saviour through the ancient and honoured path of pilgrimage.

The Apostolic Episcopal Church issues a charter to the Order of Franciscans of the Eucharist

The Apostolic Episcopal Church (in union with the Catholicate of the West and the Abbey-Principality of San Luigi) has issued a Charter to the Order of Franciscans of the Eucharist.

The Order maintains a website at https://www.franciscanseucharist.org It has close fraternal connexions with the Order of Corporate Reunion and like that Order looks primarily to Rome for its example and praxis. The late Archbishop Peter Paul Brennan, OCR, was an Advisory Board and Council Member. Headquartered in California, where it is registered as a non-profit corporation, the Order has clergy and lay members in the USA as well as in Africa and Asia. The Primate and Presiding Archbishop is the Most Revd. Friar Michael Cuozzo OCR, OFE, while Bishop Thomas Gore OCR, OFE, of the AEC is a Board of Directors and Council Member.

The Charter recognizes the Order as a Religious Order of the Apostolic Episcopal Church (and the Catholicate of the West). The Apostolic Episcopal Church and the Catholicate of the West have a long history of association with Franciscan Orders, the oldest of these being the Order of Rievaulx, an order of Franciscan Tertiaries that is now merged within the AEC.
