The annual Convocation of the Institute of Arts and Letters (London) took place on 3 June 2017 at St Jude’s Church, Balham, London SW12, by kind permission of the Rector. Four new Fellows were formally admitted, Lailan Young and Dr Andrew Naylor in person, and Dr Mike Kearsley in absentia.

The formal proceedings included a talk by Roddy Mullin, who is a Chartered Engineer and Chartered Marketor and former Colonel in the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, and who addressed the assembled company on the theme of leadership. After this, Mark Hartt-Palmer gave an unaccompanied violin recital which included music by Erwin Schulhoff and the reconstruction of Bach’s famous Toccata and Fugue in D minor for solo violin by Jaap Schroder.

Tea was kindly provided by the Rector and offered a welcome opportunity for Fellows to socialize.

The Prince-Abbot has received the decoration of the 

Archbishop William additionally admitted the Prince-Abbot to membership in the Confraternity of the Holy Apostles, the ecumenical society of the Old Roman Catholic Church in America.
